THEMES

Climate Tech x Real Estate

The intersection of climate tech and proptech is pivotal in tackling global environmental challenges while transforming the real estate industry. By integrating smart technologies that optimize energy use, reduce waste, and promote sustainable building practices, these sectors work together to decarbonize urban spaces. Innovations like AI-driven energy management systems and circular material solutions not only lower operational costs but also help meet stringent climate goals. This convergence provides a unique opportunity to future-proof real estate, fostering a more sustainable and efficient built environment.

AI x Real Estate

New York is home to some of the world’s most prominent research communities developing artificial intelligence tools. We get to meet some people who have been working for decades on large analytical models to improve real estate and sustainable city development. Can artificial intelligence live up to its hype and unlock new billion-dollar value streams in real estate? Or are we just throwing simple solutions at complex problems here, as one of our keynotes will argue? US thought leaders and companies help us decipher the ways in which AI is already changing real estate leadership and operations—turning data into value, efficiency, tenant experience, and decision-making.

A word for: Startup Delegates

The delegation aims to help Nordic companies navigate the complexities of expanding into the vibrant New York City and US markets. Through strategic networking sessions, personalized market insights, and engagement with key stakeholders, it fosters essential knowledge and connections for success. While the delegation is primarily geared towards companies ready to expand, it's also valuable for early-stage companies eager to understand the US market mindset and build connections.

  1. Participation in the main delegation program. Meeting and presenting for public and private entities and VCs with a stated interest in Nordic proptech. We'll meet them during our visits to Governor's Island, Brooklyn Army Terminal, and Columbia, as well as at the Consulate Mini Summit—where participating companies will pitch during a special session.
  2. Guidance from local expertise. Lisa Mallner has tailored a roadmap equipping businesses with market-ready strategies and cultural sensitivity training. This includes expert-led workshops on recruitment, marketing, pitching, networking, and IP protection, empowering participants to confidently scale into the market. Note: Lisa has set up a pre-planned webinar program as an add-on for startups (separate fee). Depending on participants' needs and feedback, she may offer individual follow-up instead. Check out the program here.
